Here's what we usually get asked

Can you give me a rough square meter rate?

We are a custom home builder, using a square meter rate works well for volume builders. The homes we create are all 1 off's so this way of estimating isn't reliable.

Can you give me a ballpark?

It's the question we're asked most. But a ballpark given over the phone is almost always well off the mark, so we'd rather not set the wrong expectation.

For example a two-bedroom and bathroom extension has dozens of variables behind it, and each one can move the price a long way. Fixtures and fittings span a huge range of price points. Tiles vary in cost and in size, which changes the labour to lay them. Site access, meaning how easily we can get materials, machinery and trades in and out, carries its own cost too.

Without knowing these, any ballpark is just a guess. So let's have a quick chat about your scope, finishes and site.

Do we charge for our involvement in the design phase or ECI (Early Contractor Involvent)?

Yes, we charge a small fee relative to the size of the project. This helps to cover some (not all) of our time through this process and allows us to commit the time necessary in providing the most value to our clients

Will we enter a competitive tender?

For the right project. We have found working through an ECI (Early contractor Involvement) process provides the best value for our clients in working towards their forever home

Do you take on new builds?

Yes! while we have predominantly taken on renovations and extensions, my background from before I started my own company was in new builds and townhouses. I initially took on renovations and extensions because it was a great way to put my foot in the door and It requires a lot more problem solving, which I love.

Step 1- Enquiry

Step 2 - Meet and greet

The best projects are built on relationships and trust. We understand that not every project is the right fit for us and we might not be the right fit for everyone but being able to meet early in the piece will help pave the way for an enjoyable build!

Step 3 - Pre Construction

This is the most important part of the project. We work with you and the architect/designer and other industry professionals to make sure that the design aligns with your vision and budget. Having clearly detailed documentation will pave the way for a smoother and more efficient building process.

Step 4- Build

This is where we kick off and start turning your vision into a reality. We hold regular site meetings with our clients for those who wish to be more involved throughout the process which we believe makes the building experience more enjoyable for all as you see your home being built before your eyes!


MEET THE Director

Hey, I'm Rhys

Father to two beautiful young girls, partner to the lovely Jessica, and the proud owner and director of Su Casa Constructions.

I got into the construction Industry trade in 2013, qualified as a carpenter, progressing quickly from there. I stepped up into a maintenance manager role, and then spent three years as a site supervisor delivering high-end residential homes and townhouses before backing myself and starting SuCasa at the end of 2022.

That maintenance manager role shaped the way I build today. Being the one called in to diagnose and fix things showed me first-hand just how much stress and expense comes from homes that aren't built properly the first time. It sent me looking for a better way, one focused on quality, longevity, and homes that are genuinely healthier and more comfortable to live in. It's why I completed my Passive House certification: to educate myself so the homes we create aren't just beautiful, they're built to last and more comfortable to live in.

At Su Casa, that's the whole point — inspired spaces, built to last.
